What's Your Passion?
Getting Involved
There are many ways to contribute to the Great Eastern Ranges Initiative. Along with direct on-ground effort, many people find their personal area of endeavour can make a difference. Musicians, artists and photographers have the capacity to inform and inspire. The Great Eastern Ranges Initiative provides a framework for contributions from people with the skills to encourage awareness and participation in the Great Eastern Ranges.
Photographers play an important part in making Australia's generally shy wildlife visible to the broader community, as well as capturing the unique beauty of landscapes. Many of the beautiful wildlife photographs featured on this website and in Great Eastern Ranges publications were taken by Tobias Hayashi, a young amateur photographer.
Some business owners within the Great Eastern Ranges corridor are making important contributions. Chris Warren, owner of Crystal Creek Meadows in Kangaroo Valley, works to create a carbon neutral tourist destination and acts as a leader locally and within his sector to show how businesses can contribute to a wildlife-friendly world.
In 2007–2008 the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife purchased 3,760 hectares from donations, for addition to the National Reserve System. Regardless of your passion or area of business we welcome your ideas about how you'd like to contribute your energy to this grand vision.
Send us your story so we can acknowledge your contribution on this website.
