Supporting Local Efforts
Getting Involved
In each of the Great Eastern Ranges Partnership areas local conservation organisations, including catchment management authorities, councils, industry, landcare groups and many others are working to align activities in step with each other. Collective planning is arriving at agreed priorities and conservation action plans. These plans are underpinned by scientific principles and analysis, and are cooperative in their delivery.
Supporting these organisations and efforts can have a direct influence on the local landscape.
Opportunties to support the Great Eastern Ranges Initiative include:
- joining local organisations such as Landcare or local 'friends of' groups
- considering a direct donation or running a fundraiser to support local efforts
- supporting local field days with staffing or services to promote create great events
- considering sponsoring on-ground activities through your business
- contacting a Regional Facilitator to learn what's happening in your area and how you can help.
School students can become involved through OzGREEN programs such as MYRiveR and YouthLEAD.
