Natural Highlights

Ben Boyd National Park

Ben Boyd National Park's rugged coastline is a colourful display of folded red rocks, standing out against the sapphire blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. The Park encompasses sandy surf beaches, rugged bays, rock platforms, quiet campgrounds, sheltered inlets and historic lighthouses.

Bournda National Park

Bournda National Park is a place of great beauty and conservation significance, with saltwater and freshwater lakes, a lagoon, a creek and beaches. The Park has a rich history of Aboriginal occupation. It was an important food gathering place, and evidence of hunting and toolmaking have been found in coastal middens and old campsites.

Nadgee Nature Reserve

Colourful headland cliffs line the only coastal wilderness in New South Wales, protecting one of the largest undeveloped catchments on the eastern seaboard. Nadgee Nature Reserve provides important habitat protection for plants and animals, in addition to conserving the catchment area of the Nadgee and Little River systems and Nadgee Lake.

South East Forests National Park

The South East Forests National Park spans 100 km of spectacular coastal escarpment, tableland edge and hinterland country in the south-east corner of NSW. It forms an important link in a system of conservation reserves stretching over 600 km along the eastern Great Escarpment of southern NSW and eastern Victoria. The park provides an alternative to frequently crowded coastal destinations, a sense of adventure, and relative solitude. It provides opportunities for walking, picnicking and camping in forest settings ranging from wilderness to areas featuring quality facilities. The park's many roads and vehicle trails provide opportunities for driving and cycling.

Wadbilliga National Park

Wadbilliga National Park is a perfect area for long bushwalks and overnight camping. At the Cascades there is a walking track leading from the camping area to a viewing platform overlooking Tuross Falls and Cascades. Wadbilliga has been deliberately left in a pristine state for the sake of animals taking refuge here. Don't miss the striking Tuross Falls and Tuross River Gorge.

Australia's National Landscapes

Tourism Australia and Parks Australia have formed a partnership to identify landscapes capturing the essence of Australia and offering distinctive natural and cultural experiences.
