Photo: P Green © DECCW.The Border Ranges is one of the most biologically diverse landscapes in Australia, supporting tall eucalypt forests, mountain top heathlands, cool temperate rainforest and subtropical rainforest. It is home to a large number of rare and threatened species, as well as plants and animals only found in this region. The region contains part of the World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. The spectacular scenery and warm subtropical climate make it a great place to live and visit.

The Border Ranges Alliance is one of five regional partnerships formed as part of the Great Eastern Ranges Initiative. The Border Ranges region is rich with people and groups committed to keeping our environment as the spectacular and diverse place it is today and helping to improve it for future generations.

The Alliance brings together committed groups from north east NSW and south east Queensland to strengthen conservation connections across the state border. The Alliance groups are working to protect and improve the connectivity of natural areas in the Border Ranges to help our native plants and animals.
