Overview

The Scenic Rim is a species-rich area with a diversity of habitats.

Our primary aims are essentially to:

  • Enhance the awareness in local residents and others of the wonderful diversity of wildlife in our region, the fascinating behaviours and ecological interactions they display, and their curious, appealing and simply beautiful appearance.
  • Promote an understanding of the needs of wildlife in our region and what can be done by individuals, governments and businesses to ensure their survival well into the future.

What we do

Our major theme for the coming months will be that animals have to move (daily, seasonally etc.): conservation is not always simple, as their travel needs often complicate effords at conservation management.

We are also keen to be involved in practical issues such as habitat restoration and in lobbying for both local and more widespread conservation issues

We held a Wildlife Expo in Beaudesert on Sunday 18th July, and the Great Wildlife Disocovery Challenge, designed to let people have fun with puzzles and quizzes while learning about our local wildlife, and have had some wonderful prizes donated.”
