Overview
SEQ Catchments seeks a sustainable future for South East Queensland’s natural resources through community involvement, government and industry partnerships, and innovative on-ground delivery.
We are a community-based business that sources and coordinates investment in activities that help South East Queensland to a sustainable future and restores natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
We act as an intermediary between all levels of government, community and industry in order to make the connections, secure financial support, coordinate activities, provide technical and scientific advice and administrative support to deliver measurable, long-term outcomes for our natural resources.
What we do
- Develop partnerships with landholders and stakeholders regarding implementation of the Border Ranges Rainforest Biodiversity Management Plan
- Seek and secure funding to undertake on-ground and research activities
- Support on-ground works to control weeds and pests, improve fire management and restore connectivity.
What we have achieved
- Providing incentives to land managers for on-ground works to control weeds and pests, improve fire management and restore connectivity
- Information and field days regarding biodiversity conservation and threat mitigation
- Regional coordination of the Land for Wildlife program
- Providing support for threatened species research and threat mitigation activities
- Coordination of Queensland community consultation on the Border Ranges Rainforest Biodiversity Management Plan
- Participation in cross-regional planning and collaboration on implementation projects
- Promotion of the Border Ranges Alliance
