Overview

Far North Coast County Council, trading as Far North Coast Weeds (FNCW) is the Local Control Authority responsible for administering the Noxious Weeds Act 1993 in the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. FNCW provides a cost-effective and consistent mechanism for delivering the responsibilities for control and management of noxious weeds within the County. The County includes all of Tweed, Byron, Ballina, Lismore City, Richmond Valley and Kyogle Shires.

What we do

FNCW services the community of the Northern Rivers Region by controlling noxious weeds on public land and requiring landowners to comply with the requirements of the Noxious Weeds Act 1993 on private land. The latter involves a program of systematic property inspections and associated enforcement activities.
